The 4th Annual “Tips-Up” Charity Veteran’s Appreciation event is an opportunity for us all to gather and say “Thank you” to some Michigan Veterans who serve our nation. Please consider sponsoring this event so they and their families can enjoy in a day of celebration with food, fun, entertainment, and games. Proceeds go to benefit the Brain Injury Association of Michigan Veterans Program to help our returning combatants with Traumatic Brain Injury by “Creating a Better Future through Education, Advocacy, Research, Support and Prevention”. The Brain Injury Association of Michigan is a 29 year old 501-c-3 State of Michigan chartered, non-profit organization.

 About Veteran’s Brain Injury   Traumatic Brain Injury or TBIs as they are referred to, affect nearly 20% of returning combatants from Iraq and Afghanistan. The Brain Injury Association of Michigan Veterans Program is one of the national leaders in the battle to ensure these brave, young men and women receive the TBI healthcare they deserve. Please consider sponsoring this event to say “Thank-you” and to help the battle against TBIs, the “Signature Wound of the War on Terror”.

 About the Civilian Numbers   Traumatic Brain Injury will affect over 45,000 Michigan residents in 2010 alone and that number does not include “shaken babies” or our returning veteran combatants. There will be “Six Times” more TBIs than HIV Aids, Breast Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, or Spinal Cord Injuries… COMBINED !!!

About the Event   - Registered Veterans and their family members will receive:

• Free participation in the Legal Help for Veteran’s “Tips-Up for the Troops” Bass Fishing Tournament
• Free “All-American” family style B-B-Q sponsored by Eisenhower Center starting at 11:30 a.m.
• Free events starting at 9:00 a.m. and go all day long to include: Canoeing; Hay Rides, Family Fun Walks; Swim at the Beach; Bike Rides & Roller Blade (bring your skates, bikes, helmets and safety equipment (required); Nature and Farm Center Tours, Classic Car Show, and much more.
• Free Tournament “Weigh-in Show” and entertainment starting at 1:30 p.m.

            The event is packed with fun for everyone. Sponsors, donors and their families are encouraged to be a part of this celebration. Please indicate the level of sponsorship or type of donation you wish make on the attached form.
